Magnetic Particle Inspection

Magnetic Particle Inspection is used for the detection of surface breaking discontinuities or defects on ferromagnetic materials.

Glacier is heavily engaged in the inspection of welded connections for the wind turbine construction using a combination of MPI and UT to ensure full weld coverage.

The Magnetic Particle Inspection is carried out by applying an electrically induced magnetic field around the test item. A solution of magnetic particles is applied to identify flux leakage caused by surface or near surface defects.  Anomalies can then be assessed by our team against relevant specifications.
