Glacier consolidates business offering
Glacier Energy Services has announced today that it has implemented a new organisational structure in order to create a more efficient and integrated working environment as well as increasing focus on international expansion.
Founded in 2011 through the acquisition of Roberts Pipeline Machining and Wellclad, with the later purchases of Site Machining Services, Ross Offshore and Professional Testing Services, Glacier Energy Services has seen year-on-year growth across all of its business and the move will see all acquired brands now come together under Glacier moving forwards.
“Having come together seven years ago as an integrated services company, Glacier is now at a point in its development where we see great benefit, and increased interest, in offering two or more of our products and services to customers in single workscopes,” said Scott Martin, executive chairman, Glacier Energy Services.
“The Glacier brand has also grown stronger over the years and with this in mind, we want to make our offerings to the market as clear and efficient as possible and ensure that standards and quality are consistent across the organisation. This means bringing best practice from each business to the integrated offering.”
The reorganisation will see Duncan McDougall take on the role of Managing Director for theGlacier Energy Services portfolio, bringing together Glacier’s products and services in the areas of Onsite Machining, Welding Solutions, Heat Exchangers and Non-Destructive Testing.
Former managing director of Wellclad, George Leggate, will now spearhead the company’s international expansion as Managing Director of the newly formed Global Business Team, encompassing sales and partner recruitment activities across Glacier’s global target markets. Former Wellclad director, Robert Hutcheson, will assume responsibility as business unit head for Welding Solutions.
“We have some excellent talent in the organisation and this really streamlines our organisation, utilising skills and experience to support the strategic direction and full integration of the company.”
