Professional Testing Services Secure Accreditation to Support Expansion

Professional Testing Services (PTS) was acquired by Glacier Energy Services in March 2014 and has been expanding ever since, with the ongoing provision of both Conventional and Advanced Non Destructive Testing (NDT) services.

In June 2017, PTS achieved ISO 71020 accreditation (as a Type A Inspection body), which will help support its growth and development and enable the business to tender directly for both new-build and in-service inspection projects with large, worldwide operators.

The business has also successfully secured a variety of new contracts in 2017. Most recently, investing in new operations in Newcastle - PTS now employs 17 technicians in the North East of England, with new projects on the horizon. Ninety per cent of its work is completed in the Renewables energy sector with operations in Belgium and Holland, whilst also providing technician support and NDT services to a variety of businesses across Central Scotland.

The rest of the business has also seen modest growth and with plans in place to upgrade its radiography facilities in Methil, it’s also looking to expand the scope of services provided in Newcastle.

Ford Innes heads up PTS’s operations in the UK. He said:

"PTS is in a strong position, with its additional established presence in Newcastle and with achieving our new industry accreditation, to pursue other additional opportunities. We’re embracing this period of growth and with a promising order book for the remainder of 2017 and into 2018, business is looking good.”
